My Mother, (aka Grandma Bliss,) got this flower for Christmas. Well actually it was the bulb with about 1 or 2" of a green stem. It came with the pot and a small bag of dirt. She planted the bulb on January 9th.
It now has 4 big blooms!
It is Beautiful!

THANK YOU!

First I would like to say "THANK YOU" Your advise on what to do with my cabinet was so important to me and I have now decided I am going to paint it!! (I was secretly hoping that is what you would say, hehehe) It is going to be a BIG project for me though so, I will be painting an old buffet first. (My practice project.) And then I will paint the cabinet. Just waiting for warmer wheather before I get started since I will be painting them in the garage. Wish me luck and Thanks again!
This is a picture I found at an estate sale. When I saw it ,I had to have it. I think I only paid $2 or $3 for it. It is pretty banged up and has a lot of imperfections but I love it!

To Paint or Not To Paint..............

OK, When I bought this cabinet, my intentions were to paint it white!
After it sat in our garage for a couple of months my sweet husband convinced me to bring it in and try it in our home for a while in it's original color....brown.
My husband is one of those guys that thinks it is very wrong to paint wood. But I love white and love painted furniture.
So, I'm am asking for your advise,.......Do I Paint or Do I stay with the Brown???

Christmas morning at Grandma Bliss' house!
Grandma Bliss made all of the boy's quilt's for Christmas this year. A homemade quilt is the best gift ever in my opinion and my boy's feel the same way. Garrett and Grandma snuggled up under his quilt!

Christmas Gift

Christmas was amazing this year! All 5 of our boys were home and we all had such a wonderful time together! We all got spoiled, "as usual" but I recieved a special gift from my sister Cindy that I wanted to share with you.
Our Dad passed away on December 27th 1995. We all miss him. Growing up, Cindy and I always called my Dad, "Daddy" To the brother's he was "Dad" but to us girls he was always-Daddy. I love this pillow that Cindy made me. It made me cry when I opened such a special gift and I will treasure it forever.
Every year on Christmas Eve, we go to the cemetery and light candles on Daddy's grave. It is so peaceful and pretty.
This quilt is a beautiful wallhanging that I WON!
Two years ago, we went to a quilt guild and I bought a raffle ticket for $1.00. And this is what I won! It is hanging in our family room in our basement right now. I love it! I felt kind of bad when the ladies from the quilt guild delivered it to me because one of the ladies said she had bought 40 tickets because she wanted to win so bad. I can appreciate all of the time and work that went into making this quilt and I feel very fortunate to have won!
